  Job Description:
  Responsible for the overall project engineering / management of offshore oil and gas projects execution (FEED, detailed engineering, procurement and construction) through to handover to Production.
  Prepare Project Execution Plans (PEP’s), determine, and carry out contract strategies required for engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation and hook up and commissioning.
  Preparation of PEP’s and execution thereof are to adhere to the company Facilities Management System (AFMS) which uses the concept of gateway reviews and formal, systematic approvals.
  Identify needs and assemble own PMT to successfully manage and execute assigned Projects on a matrix basis making appropriate use of support groups available within Facilities.
  Establish budgets for assigned projects and raise corresponding Approval-For-Expenditure Requests (AFE’s), and monitor the same.
  Establish individual project specific schedules and cost control procedures and monitor the same.
  Carry out schedule and cost risk assessments on assigned projects and regularly review and update same. Establish a risk register and develop mitigation plans for all major identified risks.
  Ensure engineering design of projects adequately accommodates for Production requirements in terms of operability and obtain Production acceptance of same.
  Coordinate all construction activities including offshore installation and hook up and commissioning.
  Liaise closely with Production department on all aspects of the offshore execution including Permits to Work, shutdowns, and work coordination to ensure that the Projects are completed and formally handed over on schedule.
  
  Requirements:
  The most essential Requirements are as follows:
  Degree in an engineering or relevant technical discipline
  Minimum of 7 years experience in project, engineering and construction management in the upstream oil and gas industry (both onshore and offshore).
  Previous direct experience in offshore facilities construction work, especially installation of platforms and laying pipelines, as well as working on facilities expansions where simultaneous production and construction operations are required.
  Previous experience of working in Nigeria is preferred.
  Previous experience working internationally is a prerequisite.
  Managed multidiscipline teams of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  Computer literate (including sound working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MSProject).
  Good communication skills.

  To act as a focal point/technical authority for geotechnical and civil engineering questions in Company
  To liaise/brainstorm with client department key personnel to prepare PIN’s (Project Initiation Notes), design briefs and a “Business Case” (where required) for their proposed onshore and offshore geotechnical and civil engineering.
  To prepare a detailed Basis of Design for every design proposal, based on the agreed Design Brief and ensure proper documentation on APD(N)L’s Papyrus application.
  To prepare/negotiate work scopes, schedules and budgets for executing geo-technical and civil engineering design services by self or consultant resources and refine the optimum scope of work for individual designs/projects, so as to achieve the best value-for-money whilst still satisfying the essential requirements of the APD(N)L client department.
  To execute any required design for the works, either by self or consultant resources, working in co-operation with the APD(N)L client department to ensure their technical requirements and functionality are adequately addressed.
  To supervise any consultant design work, verifying adequacy of drawings and specifications to ensure that they meet Company standards and relevant industry codes
  To update and maintain a database of geotechnical information for all Addax, i.e. APD(N)L and SLNL (Shoreline) locations and include them in a geotechnical map that can easily be updated and referred to for future projects, facilities maintenance works and project upgrades.
  To initiate/update and maintain “as-built” drawings for all company locations showing geotechnical as well as vertical/horizontal survey and underground/above ground facilities details.
  To monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions to avoid design deficiencies and installation delays.
  To assist Company / Alliance resident and/or project engineers with the civil engineering aspects of Facilities design.
  To provide geotechnical and civil engineering input to other disciplines to assure that design outputs are consistent.
  To assist construction and commissioning teams with technical questions encountered during the construction phase of the projects.)
  To participate in HAZOP’s and other key design reviews.
  To assist in the professional development of Nigerian geotechnical and civil engineers.
  Coordinating or performing discipline checks for design documents and drawings.
  Developing technical specifications for materials and construction.
  Mentoring and developing junior engineers and designers.
  
  Requirements:
  University Engineering Degree (Civil) – 2nd Class Honours or better
  An MSc in Civil Engineering or Geotechnics will be a distinct advantage
  Registration with COREN is necessary for this position.
  Membership of professional bodies such as NSE (Nigeria), ICE (UK) and ASCE (USA) is desirable but not necessary.
  Minimum of 20 years post-graduate experience, at least 12 of which must have been in a management position, working in the oil and gas industry.
  Must be used to working in a multi-discipline environment
