Mr Kingsley Kuku Urges FG To Engage Ex-Militants Positively

Africcon Blogspot Media -  The Presidential amnesty office has advocated an economic lifeline for leaders of various Niger Delta militant groups as part of the total package of the amnesty proclamation.


According to Report - Speaking at a news conference in Abuja, the chairman of the amnesty programme, Mr Kingsley kuku said that until the government is able to positively engage the ex-militants and their leaders, the amnesty programme cannot be said to be complete.

Mr Kuku explained that the federal government is worried that about the fate of the 30,000 ex-militants undergoing different forms of training in the programme.

He insisted that the programme must end by December 31st, 2015 and it’s only the president that can extend it if he considers important for the sustenance of peace in the Niger Delta region.
