Senator Flays Obi Over Non-Performance Claim

Afric-tv24 - Zamfara...

By Afric-tv24   -  The comment by Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State that the three senators representing the state are underperformers has been described as unfortunate.

The senator representing Anambra North District, Margery Chuba-Okadigbo, dismissed the governor’s remarks as an attempt to play to the gallery.

She accused Obi of lack of basic knowledge of the workings of the parliament, saying that if not for the governor’s ignorance, he would not have made the unfortunate remark against the senators.

Chuba-Okadigbo, in a statement issued at the weekend by her Chief of Staff, Mr. Emmanuel Mbamalu, urged the people of Anambra State to ignore Obi’s “unwarranted campaign of calumny” aimed at discrediting legislators.

The senator said that there was no doubt that the governor needed urgent education on elementary rudiments of law making, especially at the national level.

She said contrary to “Obi’s sweeping categorisation,” she had co-sponsored many motions, including the motion on the need for the immediate construction of the 2nd Niger Bridge.
