No fewer than five persons have been killed in Tapga village of Ibi local government area of Taraba State, following an attack by unidentified gunmen from the neighbouring Tarok village in Plateau State.

Several other persons were said to have sustained different degrees of
injuries in the attack and are currently undergoing treatment in
various clinics in both Wukari and Ibi areas.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, compelled the people to now take refuge in Jibo village of Wukari local government areas and desert the village and their farming activities.
Efforts to get the state police command to confirm the incident proved abortive, as the police public relations officer (PPRO), Joseph Kwaji, did not pick up his calls.
