Manchester United are reportedly in "advanced talks" to re-sign Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speculation about Ronaldo's future at Real has been ongoing for several months after he claimed he was unhappy with a "professional issue" at the Bernabeu earlier this year.
The Portugal international has been linked with a return to the club he left in 2009 for a world record £80million for some time, but Madrid president Florentino Perez recently said he was confident that the 28-year-old, who is out of contract in 2015, would sign an extension through to 2018 in the near future.
Ronaldo last month took to Twitter to dismiss reports that a new deal had been agreed and is believed to be open to a return to Manchester, and according to the Daily Star, a move could happen before the summer transfer window closes.
Madrid's pursuit of Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has added to speculation that Ronaldo could be considering a move away from the Spanish capital, and according to Friday's report, the two clubs have spent the last 12 days negotiating a deal worth £80m.
