JOB DESCRIPTION: The Bursar is a Principal Officer and as the Cheif Financial Officer of the University is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.- THE PERSON: Applicants for the post of Bursar must have in the past exhibited considerable degree of competence, responsiveness, demonstrable integrity and transparency on matters of financial resource management. Applicants must be in good health and able to endure the rigours of the duties of the Bursar. Also candidates must be found to possess the following qualities: vision, proven academic distinction, managerial ability, integrity and transparency in private and public life. ln addition, candidates should have the ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the University, command respect and arouse cooperation and loyalty of staff and students of the University.
- Candidates are to write in not more than five hundred (500) words, their vision for the University in funds generation and management for the next five years.
- Prospective candadates must show innovative approaches to the running of an ICT-driven Bursary working at the highest level of efficiency to eliminate time wasting, bureaucracy, bottlenecks and fraud.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess a good honours degree in Accounting as well as professionally recognized Accountancy qualifications, e.g. ACMA, ACA, CPA, ACCA, CNA, Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage. - PLUS: Fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience, at least 5 of which must have been in top managerial positions including Deputy Bursar in a University setting or similar institutions.
- Candidate should in addition not be more than 55 years on appointment.
- CONDITIONS OF SERVICE: The successful candidate shall hold office for a period of five (5) years, but may however be reappointed for a further period of five years (and no more ) on such terms and conditions applicable to Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined by appropriate University Laws and the Governing Council.

TBCARE I is a five years project (2010-2015) funded by USAID. TBCARE I is assisting the National TB and Leprosy Control Programme through various in-country partner organisations. KNCV has an office in Abuja and is recruiting staff for the following positions with the TBCARE I project. - Senior Technical Advisor Program Management
The Senior Technical Advisor Program Management will work under the guidance of the Country Representative, who is his/her supervisor. The Senior Technical Advisor Program Management will be responsible for implementation of KNCV/TBCARE I activities with the scope of assisting the National Tuberculosis Control Programme; liaising with/supporting the National TB Control Programme on the implementation of NTBLCP activities within the Stop TB Strategy; coordination of training activities within KNCV and sub partner organisations; coordination of supportive supervision/mentoring; coordination of timely submission of KNCV/TBCARE I Country Reports; any other activtities as assigned by the Country Representative. - Applicants for this position should be Nigerian nationals or resident who possess the following minimum qualifications: Senior Health Professional with a Masters Degree in Public Health (related to TB Contol); experience of working with the Federal Ministry of Health as well as donor organisatons; willing to travel within Nigeria (all states); able/willing to take up regional consultancy activities (upon request of KNCV Head Office and approved by USAID) within the African Region.
- This position is subjected to final USAID approval of the work plan.
- Admin Assistant
The Admine Assistant will work under the guidance of the Senior Financial and Admin Office, who is his/her supervisor.
The Admin Assistant will: perform secretarial/receptionist duties; take minuties of office meetings; organize logistics for visitors; assist the accountant with the administrative organization of training assist the Senior M&E Advisor with data entry in Excel; any activities as assigned by the Senior Financial and Admin Officer. - Applicants for this position should be Nigeria nationals or residents who possess the following minimum qualifications: Ordinary National Diplomal in related discipline; 4-5 years working experience in a similar position; excellent English communication skills (verbal, reading and writing); computer literacy in World/Excel/Outlook/Explorer/PowerPoint; ability to take initiative, serve as a team player and exhibits traits of courtesy of courtesy, cooperation, respect and integrity; excellent and prioritize multiple tasks and responsiblities.
