    Vacancy - Senior Petrophysicist
    Location(s): Benin City, Nigeria

    Purpose of role
    Deliver technically sound petrophysical analyses and practice effective integration of all available petrophysical, geological and geomechanical data Leading the evaluation of development opportunities and develop and implement high level petrophysical aspects Supervise the petrophysical community and coordinate technical and cost control work in the team Supervise comprehensive petrophysical studies to support and improve reservoir characterization, working closely with geoscientists and engineers Coordinate petrophysical input to fields, projects and tasks assigned to the petrophysical team Propose and perform analytical studies for coring and core analysis, capturing the petrophysical challenges of a wide array of reservoirs Prioritize study focus leading to improved development and recovery from reservoirs according to business significance Work effectively in a collaborative environment, with a wide variety of stakeholders Maintain consistency of accepted working practices and develop best practices Adopt safe work and environment practices in accordance with Atlantic Energy’s safety policies and business conducts Promote business awareness in decisions and recommendations
    Key competencies/experience required
    Wireline data acquisition, QC and follow up. Quicklook, standard, and complex formation evaluation. Data integration, including mud logs, pressure data, geological data and core data. Planning and interpretation of experimental rock properties data. Interpretation of mud logging data. Use of international and internal standards and best practices. Evaluation and implementation of capillary pressure data. Basic statistics including cluster analysis. Rock physics including Gassmann fluid substitution. Project database management. Familiarity with preparation of drilling programs and final well reports. Familiarity with well site operations and QHSE requirements. Understanding coring operations and core analysis (CCAL and SCAL). Understanding technical and contractual specifications for tenders and contracts. Experience with the relationship between rock physics and geophysical properties and as a minimum, a basic understanding of reservoir geology and reservoir engineering. Analytical work experience including core data and saturation modeling Considerable previous petrophysics-focused experience in the oil/gas industry Well-developed open hole log analysis skills Experience working with a multi-disciplinary subsurface team involving engineers, geoscientists and petrophysicists Experience of drilling operations and real-time data analysis. Experience using petrophysical software
    Person Specification
    Geoscience degree Minimum of +8-10 years experience in the Oil Industry Ability to perform rigorous, comprehensive petrophysical analyses, single-well or field study Previous experience in West Africa will be an advantage
