    The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) is a higher education institution engaged in imparting knowledge, skills and learning to students using specialized facilities and a multi-disciplinary approach.     One of the key components of AFIT’s approach to excellence is the employment of highly skilled and motivated staff to deliver first class education to its students. In this regard, applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill a number of vacancies at the Institute for both teaching and non-teaching staff.

    ACADEMIC PROGRAMME:
    Candidates seeking employment at AFIT should possess appropriate skill levels in aerospace/aeronautical engineering, electrical/electronics   engineering communication engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and Non Destructive Testing. The qualifications must be in disciplines consistent with the programmes undertaken at the Institute and possession of an aircraft maintenance engineers’ license will be an added advantage.     The existing vacancies for academic staff at AFIT include the positions below.
    The qualifications and requirements for the various vacant positions are detailed below:

    VACANCY - LECTURER I (CONPCASS 08 NL.319.880 1.962.552 PA).

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum of a higher degree such as doctorate or its equivalent.
    Minimum of 6 years of teaching, research and/or professional experience in a university or an institution of university status or a comparable institution.
    He/she should show evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and conferences.
    He/she should have a research track record and also demonstrate evidence of supervision of research work of scholars up to masters degree level.

    VACANCY - LECTURER II (CONPCASS 07 N1, 136,628 -1,741, 464 PA).

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum of a higher degree such as doctorate or its equivalent.
    Minimum of 4 years of teaching, research and/or professional experience in a university or an institution of university status or a comparable institution.
    He/she should show evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and conferences.
    He/she should have a research track record and also demonstrate evidence of supervision of research work of scholars at undergraduate level.

    VACANCY - ASSISTANT LECTURER (CONPCASS 06 N960, 000.00 – 1,440,000.00 PA)

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum of master’s degree in relevant areas.
    Minimum of 3 years of teaching, research and/or professional experience in a university or an institution of university status or a comparable institution.
    He/she should show evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and conferences.

    POSITION: DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (CONPCASS 14 N3.628.872 4.707.288 PA)

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
    Minimum of a higher degree such as doctorate or its equivalent.
    Minimum of 8 years of teaching, research and/or professional experience in a university or an institution of university status or a comparable institution.
    He/she should show evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and conferences.
    He/she should have a research track record and also demonstrate evidence of supervision of research work of scholars up to doctorate level.
    He/she should demonstrate strong potential for research and scholarly activities.
    Membership of international professional associations.
    He/she should demonstrate evidence for leadership in administrative responsibilities.
    He/she should have strong potential to attract significant research funding.
    He/she should show evidence of consultancy activities. Candidates’ experience in working with interdisciplinary groups is an added advantage.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE
    It is imperative for interested candidates to adhere to the following points:
    All candidates must possess NYSC Discharge Certificate, Exemption Certificate or Certificate of Exclusion where applicable.
    Salaries, allowances and other conditions of service attached to the various positions are the same as approved for federal universities and polytechnics in Nigeria.

    Academic qualifications obtained with dates;

    Working experience including full details of former and present post(s), and pay grade levels history;
    Full details of teaching and research experience and service to the nation and immediate community where applicable;
    List of publications where applicable;
    Honours/distinctions;
    Extracurricular activities;
    Names and addresses of 3 referees.
    Candidates’ submissions should be forwarded in an envelope which should have the position applied for clearly indicated on its left-hand corner.

    Candidates should also request their 3 referees to send reports on them, under confidential cover, direct to the Registrar of the Air Force Institute of Technology.
