Roma revealed Lamela's departure to Spurs on their official website, stating that the deal could rise by another €5 million, subject to bonuses.

Tottenham have yet to confirm the deal for the Argentina international, who has been strongly linked with the club as speculation over Gareth Bale's future has intensified.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas said on Wednesday that he expected Bale's mooted €100 million switch to Real Madrid to be completed "very, very soon".
