- Everton release blue and yellow away strip

Everton have unveiled their striking new yellow and blue away strip for the forthcoming Premier League season but it could cause a clash when they play Chelsea.

The kit will be available to purchase from Thursday August 22, but there are many similarities with their home kit.

As well as the dominance of Everton's traditional royal blue, the new away strip, much like the home kit, is made from recycled polyester in accordance with Nike’s commitment to produce athletic wear with a low environmental impact.

Everton's visit to Chelsea could cause a kit clash.

Both teams play in blue so Everton will be forced to wear their away kit, as is usual for their trip to Stamford Bridge.

However, the shorts on Chelsea's home kit are blue, which means Everton will have to change. They are yet to release a third kit for the coming season, but one option for Roberto Martinez's side is to wear the white shorts from their home strip.

During the 2008-09 season, for example, Liverpool played in an all grey away kit. When they visited Arsenal, though, they wore the red shorts and socks from their home strip, as seen in the picture below, to avoid a clash with Arsenal's white shorts and socks.
