Here today, gone tomorrow... Spurs remove Bale from official Twitter page as Welsh star closes in on Madrid move

Clint Dempsey's move from Tottenham to the Seattle Sounders in the MLS came at an unfortunate time for the club as they had to remove his picture from their Twitter profile, which also contained Gareth Bale.

The Welsh star has been heavily linked with a world record move to Real Madrid, and Spurs' new Twitter page, which has pictures of Mousa Dembele and Aaron Lennon in place of Bale and Dempsey, will do little to stop speculation.

Bale's dream move to the Spanish giants is getting closer, with Spurs chief Daniel Levy meeting with Real to finalise the details of the transfer, with Levy attempting to get the £87million fee up front.
