Arsenal have completed the signing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for a club record fee, believed to be worth around £42million.
Ozil had been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United throughout the summer, and last week appeared to end speculation about his future by saying he has no intention of leaving Real.
But on Monday morning it emerged that Arsenal were closing in on the signing of the 24-year-old after tabling a bid of around £42.5m, and after passing a medical in Germany, the deal was completed on Monday evening, just four hours before the 23:00 BST transfer deadline.
