Our Client
A State Government in Nigeria recently partnered with the Mantis Collection Group to manage a Cold & Warm Springs Resort. This is a landmark that leverages the unique position the State enjoys in the tourism and hospitality industry and enables a diversified economic base.The Resort project is envisioned to deliver a 3 and 5-star hotel environment complete with conferencing facilities, a heliport, golf course and business resort, and is located around a famous Warm Spring in the South-Western part of Nigeria.
As part of its start-up initiatives, the State Government intends to recruit competent and suitably qualified professionals to fill The position in the Warm Springs Resort.
Operations Manager (Nigerian or Expatriates) - WSR0001
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for providing operational leadership, vision and direction to the Resort to maximise results and optimise its competitive strengths in the Nigerian Tourism sector. He/She will coordinate and oversee the entire operations, including all its business concerns, such as hospitality and leisure services, amongst others. Specifically, the candidate will:
Co-ordinate the day-to-day operational activities of the Resort and formulate policies that are geared towards promoting hospitality and tourism in the Resort.
Drive the development of annual operating plans including business plans, operational requirements, staffing and budgets within the framework set by the Resort's corporate mission, strategic plan and policies in conjunction with the General Manager.
Coordinate and ensure seamless and optimal integration of operational departments in linewith its resources (human, financial and information) to achieve the Resort's overall objectives.
Qualifications:
A good first degree in any Social or Management Science discipline from a reputable institution. Higher degree (s) or an MBA will be an advantage.
Minimum of ten (10) years' post-qualification experience, five (5) of which must have been spent in senior management position in an international or multinational organization within the tourism or hospitality industry.
Previous experience in managing resort centres will be an advantage.
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of groups and individuals.
Good leadership and people management skills to motivate and coordinate teams.
Excellent understanding of the local and global hospitality industry.
Good understanding of key regulatory issues and knowlege of health, Safety and Environment management.
Proven track record in achieving recruits in an environment that is challenging and sometimes unpredictable.
Good negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
