A leading Mining and Construction Company to recruit a Mine Safety Engineer for its operations in Nigeria.

Job Description

The Mine Safety Engineer will responsible for determining the location and plan the extraction of coal, metallic ores, non-metallic minerals, and building materials, such as stone and gravel and conducting preliminary surveys of deposits or undeveloped mines and planning their development. The role will require the Mine Safety Engineer to examine deposits or mines to determine whether they can be worked at a profit, making geological and topographical surveys, evolving methods of mining best suited to character, type, and size of deposits and supervising mining operations.
The position is based in Nigeria.


Job Qualifications

Qualified to degree level in Environmental Health and Safety, Science or Engineering
A minimum of 5 progressive years’ of safety management experience in the mining sector
General Understanding of ISO 14001 and OSHAS
Knowledge about mining industry
Working level proficiency with MS Office suite
