Reports Says; The Leader of the Jama’atul Ahlis Sunnah Lid da’awatiwal Jihad popularly known as Boko Haram, Imam Abubakar Shekau, has denied any ceasefire agreement with the Presidential Amnesty Committee and refuted any talks with his commander by any member of the panel.

Shekau made the denial in a 10-minute video message obtained by the Agence France Presse (AFP) yesterday.
The video was delivered to AFP in a manner consistent with previous statements from the sect leader, which has been declared a global terrorist by the United States.
“We are not in any kind of agreement with any committee member, neither is any of my people. They are just lying like they always do. If we will have to agree to any ceasefire agreement, it will have to be on our terms, at a location we choose and that is after the suspension of democracy and the constitution”, Shekau stated in plain Hausa language.
“We don’t know any Kabiru Turaki or the false people he spoke to on our behalf but we will deal with him in our own way. Like I have said before, Abu Zinnira is the only person who has the authority to talk on our behalf, nobody else”.
Shekau also supported the recent attack on a school in Yobe. “We fully support the attack on this Western education school in Mamudo, but we don’t attack students and our religion does not permit the killings of women, children and the aged but we will kill their teachers in their presence”.
This week, a minister and head of a panel tasked with talking to the insurgents claimed he was negotiating with a legitimate Shekau deputy and that a cease-fire deal was at hand.
When contacted on phone, one of the amnesty committee member, who resides in Kano, told Leadership Sunday under the condition of anonymity that Shekau said what he did because he knew that even if the ceasefire comes to be he still has questions to answer regarding his heinous role in the whole bloodshed that has claimed many lives.
